As we were reminiscing about the fact the we have been in business 25 years, we pulled out the OLD photo albums, dusted them off and had ourselves a good laugh!! Im sure if you asked Ann, she would say it seemed just like yesterday she opened the doors of that cute little flower shop in Tremont IL with her good friend Candi. but WOW have styles changed! Hair styles, clothes style(thank goodness!:)  and DEFINITELY decor style!!!  Honestly we have SO many good pics documented through the the years, but I tried to just narrow it down to a few from that first year or so and share them with you!

It all started with these two good friends 25 years ago...Ann and Candi.  Neither one of them had a degree (or even much experience for that matter) with design or floral arranging, but they both had a God given talent.  It really happend on a whim...they were both talking in church one Sunday and thought it would be fun to open a shop together! Ann's youngest was 4 years old, and Candi's oldest was 4 years old, and they spent many days at the shop with their moms, playing in the back room!

Ann's youngest! I guess this is what 4 year olds do when you're bored at your moms shop?!:)

One of the displays on Opening Day :D

Ann with her 2 daughters and niece on Opening Day! It was an exciting time!

Putting Kim (me) to work from Day 1! (notice the lovely outfit?! See what I meant about thank goodness the styles have changed?!)

The grade school was only about a block away from our Tremont Store, and I was 8 years old the year my mom opened the shop. I would walk to the store after school on the days she worked and have a snack and do homework for a few hours.  I would also take discarded stems and flowers that fell on the floor and make my own little arrangements:) When I got into High School, I did the co-op program from our school and worked every afternoon at the shop.  As soon as I graduated, I started working full time, and that is when we expanded our store up to Morton.

The fireplace mantel display ;)

The outside of the shop was in full bloom!! We had 2 front window displays that we would switch out for the season for people to see as they drove through our little town on Main Street!

These 2 stayed great friends, and still are to this day!! Candi has always been a super energetic, positive, and FUN person to be around and I always LOVED coming to the shop when she was there working! Candi sold the shop shortly after she adopted a sweet baby girl. Ann was so blessed to get to own the shop with 2 good friends following that (Janet and Cheri).  We wouldn't be where we are today without these 3 ladies.  I recently took partnership about 4 years ago, and am fortunate to follow on after these ladies.

And this is the real MVP of Floral Designs!! (She's going to HATE me for this pic!) But she has put blood, sweat, and tears into this business and poured her heart and soul into it! Truly, if it weren't for her, we would not be where we are today.  She has always said, this business is her 4th child (and I truly believe she loves it as much as one of us;):) I know without a doubt she thanks God daily for this business and gives HIM all the glory for every success and growth we have experienced.  God has guided our path every step of the way and we know He will continue to whatever the future may hold.

Thanks for following along, hope you got a good laugh.  Isnt' it crazy how much the trends change over a span of 25 years!?;)
