Sagewood Project l Morton, IL
When we met with the owners of this home, they were wanting recommendations on paint colors for walls, trim, kitchen cabinets, etc. From there, we decided the layout for new living room furniture. Our goal was to make the space still feel open, but lighter and more inviting. We added more seating, but in an arrangment that allowed for great conversations but comfortable for lounging and watching TV. This couple has a family of pets and a younger son, so we went with the Kid/Pet Proof fabric. That way we could choose a lighter shade, but it was performance grade, stain resistant, and durable. Love when style meets function!

AFTER: We added a coffee table to help fill in all the empty space in the middle of the room, which gives them a spot for drinks and remotes or to prop their feet. We chose a soft thick rug that lays well on carpet and has a slight pattern to it for interest.

AFTER: A sideboard with closed in storage and simple decor to fill the other large wall in the room. Since we did art on the wall caddy corner, we chose a series of mirrors for above the cabinet.

DETAILS:
We added a couple of leather arm chairs that add some warmth with the wood and leather tones. These added seating and will make for great conversation while facing the sofas, but doesn't block the view out the windows.
With the extra tall slanted ceilings, we chose a large piece of art flanked by candle scones. We love the drama of the black on the light walls.
